What 30 free days of a course library is actually worth

By HR Content Author September 10, 2026 4 min read

Most people expect a free trial of a training platform to be a sample. Two or three courses opened up, the useful ones behind a wall, and a call on day three to talk about the rest.

That is not what this is. On the first afternoon every course in the library is open, to everyone you employ, for thirty days. No staged release, no seats to buy, nothing greyed out until you talk to somebody. 300+ courses, all of them, from the start.

Which makes the fair question what that is worth. Here is the arithmetic, using our own posted numbers rather than an industry average from somewhere else.

The arithmetic

Our own harassment training page prices that course at $6 per employee. That is the rate for buying training the way most small businesses buy it: one course, one person, one invoice.

Run it on a real headcount. Seventeen employees, one harassment course each, is $102. That is a single topic, once, for a company small enough that the owner knows everyone’s kids’ names.

The AllMyHR Business Membership is priced in headcount bands rather than per person. It starts at $99 a month for 1 to 25 employees, then runs $149 up to 50, $199 up to 100, $249 up to 250 and $299 up to 500. Whichever band you land in, the entire 300+ course library is included for every person who works for you.

Seventeen employees is the first band. So buying one course, once, for those seventeen people costs more than a month of the whole library for all of them.

Divide it the other way and the same thing shows up. At that band, $99 across 300+ courses is under thirty three cents a course. That is not per person. It is the price of the shelf, not the price of standing at it.

During the free look you are on Business. So for thirty days that shelf costs nothing, and there is no card on file to remember to cancel.

The number that moves is not the one you think

Per-course pricing has exactly one behaviour. Every additional name adds the full price again. Seventeen people through one course is $102. Two courses each and it is $204. The bill tracks your headcount multiplied by your ambition, which is why ambition is what gets cut.

Inside a band the membership price does not move at all. The eighteenth employee at a 1 to 25 business adds nothing, and neither does assigning that person a ninth course. The posted terms say it in as many words: no per-employee surcharges.

That changes a decision most owners make without noticing they are making it. Under a per-seat price every extra name has to be justified, so training narrows to the supervisors and the new hires and stops there. Here the cheapest version of the month is the one where you include everybody. Front desk, warehouse, the two people who have been there eleven years. Seventeen people through four courses each is sixty eight completions in thirty days, and the sixty eighth costs what the first one did, which is nothing.

Which topics to send first is covered in manager training your team will actually finish, and why short assignable courses beat the day-long session is here.

Take the records with you

Every finished course produces a downloadable certificate with the person, the course and the date on it. Why that document is worth more than the training itself once a complaint arrives is an argument we have made elsewhere. The point here is about timing.

Download them as they land. Not at the end of the month, as they land.

If you do not continue after the thirty days, the account is deactivated and your work is kept. Nothing is destroyed, and coming back later brings all of it with you. But kept and reachable are two different states, and the afternoon you actually need a certificate is not the afternoon you want to be reactivating an account to go looking for it.

So take the file while you have the login. That is the part of the month that stays yours at no cost at all.

What the month is actually worth

Add it up on the seventeen. One harassment course each, bought the ordinary way, is $102 and covers one topic on one day. Thirty free days of the membership costs nothing and covers 300+ topics, every person on the payroll, and a dated certificate for every completion.

The comparison is not close. The only variable you control is whether anybody opens anything during those thirty days.
