The free 30 days isn’t going anywhere. Your to-do list is

By HR Content Author September 25, 2026 4 min read

This is the last post in a month of them. The series ends here. The free 30 days does not, and it would be easy to write this post as though it did, so let us be accurate about what is closing.

What is closing, and what is not

Nothing about the offer is closing. There is no countdown on the AllMyHR free trial and no price going up at the end of the week. The full platform is free for 30 days, there is no credit card at signup, and that is as true next month as it is today.

What is closing is a month in which you read eight posts about things in your business that are probably out of date, and did not open any of them. The handbook with a revision date on it from two employees ago. The manager training everyone agrees should happen. The personnel file with the I-9 you have never actually looked at. If you have been reading along, you already have a short list. That list is the thing with a clock on it, and the clock belongs to you, not to us.

So consider this the last time we bring it up. The offer keeps standing. We are just going to stop reminding you that it does.

What not having it handled actually costs

It is tempting to put a penalty figure here. We are not going to, because the real cost in a small business rarely arrives as a fine. It arrives as work that quietly stopped happening.

The handbook stops matching the states you now hire in. The training you assigned in March was never completed and nobody has the records to prove otherwise. A question comes up about an accommodation request and the answer is a guess, made by whoever was closest to it, and it goes in the file as though it were a decision. None of it shows up on a P and L. It shows up eighteen months later, in a claim, when someone asks you to produce a document you assumed existed.

The cost of not having HR compliance handled is that you find out where you stand at the worst possible moment, from someone whose job is to be adversarial about it.

What 30 days of real use gets you that a demo will not

A demo shows you a product working. Thirty days on your own account shows you your own business, which is the part you actually need to see.

The trial runs at AllMyHR Business level for the full 30 days, so nothing is held back. In a month you can build the Smart Living Handbook against your real states and your real headcount and read what it produces. You can assign a course to an actual manager and watch whether it gets completed. You can put your real questions to Aries® AI, and hand the ones that need a person to an advisor, and find out whether the answers are good enough to rely on. The advisors are credentialed HR professionals holding PHR, SHRM-CP or SPHR. They are not attorneys, and they will tell you when something needs one.

That is the difference. At the end of a demo you know what the software does. At the end of 30 days you know which three things in your business were wrong, because you found them.

One boundary worth restating, since it comes up every time: AllMyHR is HR. We do not run your payroll.

Day 30, if you do nothing

Nothing automatic happens. There is no card on file, so there is nothing to charge and no subscription to cancel. The account deactivates and the work you did is saved. If you buy a membership three months later, the handbook you built and the training records you generated are still there, and you do not start over. That was the first post in this series, and it is still the shape of the thing.

If what is holding you up is which membership you would end up on, that is a one-question decision and you do not have to make it now. The trial is Business either way. If you are earlier than that and still deciding whether an HR membership is the right shape of help at all, the longer read is here. The feature-by-feature comparison is on the compare memberships page.

And if the holdup is just that the list is long and this is one more thing on it: it takes about a minute to start, and the first thing you get out of it is one real answer to one real question you already have.
